In the end it worked out alright. I had to send the phone back and get a replacement because it wouldn't transfer data from my husband's old phone. The replacement had the same problem. It turns out probably nothing was wrong with either phone, it was the old phone or user error or both. It would have been really helpful to talk to someone on the phone for advice. I didn't get to explain why I was returning it. The chat person didn't seem to understand any better than me. My son helped me and told me I could just start fresh with the new phone and add his email and Apple ID. He doesn't have many apps so it was simple but very stressful that no one at PhoneMart could tell me that.
